I do have an AC powered winch for you but we currently do not have a DC to AC converter capable of handling the power draw of the Dutton-Lainson TW4000 StrongArm Electric Winch part # DL25200. For a similar AC powered winch, I recommend using the Dutton-Lainson StrongArm Electric Winch part # DL24876. This electric winch has a maximum load capacity of 2,700 lbs which is the highest capacity we offer for AC powered winches. The winch also comes with a pulley block that allows you to move... view full answer...
We have the Dutton-Lainson StrongArm Electric Winch # DL24870 that comes with a 7/32" diameter x 25' long steel stranded cable. I recommend using your standard vehicle battery for your winch along with the Bulldog Winch Rear Wiring Kit # BDW20206. This is the standard option and simplest way to get power to your winch; I have added a link below to a help article on wiring an electric winch.
As for winching a few feet, you can use the electric winch, and yes, please do use wheel chocks when winching on snow and ice. view full answer...
The Replacement Wireless Remote for Buyers Products Electric Winch # 3375571000 is the replacement remote for the Buyers Products Electric Winch 5571200. If you have that winch on your dump trailer then this will not be a problem, the # 3375571000 will work from up to 50' away which will be more than enough range for your 16' dump trailer.
If that is not the winch that you have or you are trying to use the # 3375571000 for some other application then it will not be what you are needing.... view full answer...
The Superwinch gets wired to an ignition switch, so it isn't something that is meant for a boat trailer. The fastest 12 volt electric winch that can be powered with a 12 volt battery with a boat trailer is the Dutton-Lainson StrongArm 12-Volt DC Electric Winch with Remote # DL25220.
This is rated for boats up to 9,000 lbs, pulls between 15 ft/minute (no load) and 6.3 ft/minute (full load), and can run for up to 4 minutes at a time, so it will certainly be faster than 2 feet per minute. view full answer...

I recommend checking out the ComeUp UW-5000si Trailer Winch - Wireless Remote # CU645010.

There are a couple ways to identify which wire is the power and ground wire on your Dutton-Lainson StrongArm Electric Winch # DL25500 (SA5000DC). You can follow the wires coming out of the winch, the ground is a shorter wire that will be routed to the frame. The power wire is a longer wire that will be run up to the battery.
You could also use a circuit tester # PTW2993 to test for which wire has power. view full answer...
While I wouldn't be able to tell you what may or may not be legal in any one state, I can tell you that the winch you asked about, the Dutton-Lainson TW4000 StrongArm Electric Winch # DL25200 does have the capability to pull a wheelchair into a van.
I do have to say that it should not be used with anybody on the wheelchair, as winch manufacturers, including Dutton-Lainson, specifically state they should not be used to transport people. This winch does also need to be powered by a 12 volt... view full answer...

The right winch for you will really depend on the weight capacity you're needing. For instance, the Bulldog Winch # BDW10042 you'd looked at has a 9500 lb capacity, but when a pulley block like # BDW20077 is used, you'll double the pulling capacity of the winch. The Bulldog Winch you'd looked at would actually be a pretty good choice for this application.
I'd imagine the logs you'll be dealing with will weigh quite a bit less than the capacity offered by this winch, but choosing a winch... view full answer...
The type of battery you are looking for to use with the Dutton-Lainson StrongArm Electric Trailer Winch # TW4015 is just going to be a 12 volt battery rated for a minimum of 40 amps, and this is going to be a standard vehicle battery.
There are so many different types of batteries now at wildly different prices that it is easy to get lost but you only need a basic battery. For this winch there is not any type of specific battery required so long as it meets those requirements. The only... view full answer...

The Superwinch LT 2000 ATV Winch, # 1120210, is a quality winch that will give you 2,000 lbs of line pull. However, the unit is not waterproof.
The LT 2000 winch will have a weather resistant covers that will help protect from the elements, but over long term the unit could be impacted by the weather elements.
To prolong life, I recommend covering unit in a weather resistant cover to protection when not in use. view full answer...
